Caring for your Investment

Paintings can be objects of great beauty or of historical importance, providing an important cultural link with the past. They may have great investment value or have sentimental value to their owners. Whatever the case, paintings are fragile creations that require special care to assure their continued preservation.


TEMPERATURE

all rights reserved Do not store or display in areas with great temperature fluctuations. Near heaters, equipment, fire places, air conditioners, etc. 
Winter:   Temperature 65º-70º F
              Relative Humidity 40%-45%
Summer: Temperature 70º-75º F
              Relative Humidity 45-55%


LIGHTING
all rights reserved No direct sunlight or halogen bulbs. Oils and especially watercolors must be kept away from direct sunlight. Pigments in paint will fade if works are not kept in a UV reduced environment.


CLEANING
all rights reserved DO NOT USE CLEANING SOLUTIONS ON GLASS OR PAINTINGS EVER. Do not use paper towels on glass. Use a soft sable brush on your oil paintings. See NOTE for glass care with Cruz pieces.
